Main Street Update: Main Street is scheduled to be paved tomorrow
(weather permitting). Please do not walk on the pavement while
the paving is underway. Prior to placing new asphalt, the contractor
will spray a layer of tack coat on the pavement which is used
to bond layers of pavement together. This is a thin layer of bonding
liquid that will stick to your shoes and will be tracked onto
the existing concrete or pavers. We need to avoid this as much
as possible so please avoid walking on the wet tack coat. Striping
of the roadway and parking spaces is scheduled for Thursday afternoon
and Friday morning (if needed). Once this is complete the road
will be re-opened.
Road Closure: Central
Street between Main and 5th will be closed from Friday, May 18,
2012 at 7 p.m. until Sunday, May 20, 2012 at noon for the Relay
for Life event in Monument Park.
Pavement Striping: Roadways
and parking lots throughout the Village will be striped on Sunday,
May 20th (weather permitting).
Memorial Day Events:
Dexter Post #557 of the American Legion in cooperation with the
Dexter Area Historical Society and Village of Dexter will present
a Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 28, 2012, at 9:00 AM in
the Monument Park gazebo. A parade will follow the ceremony. Please
join us on this day of remembrance for those who have died in
our nation's service. Click here
for more information.
