Culture & Heritage Committee

The Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee was established by Council in 2008. They advise the Village Council on the development of arts, culture and heritage, promote and publicize projects, serve as advocates, and encourage public awareness, networking and collaboration. Downtown
Development Authority
|
|
|
The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is responsible for economic development and related projects within the designated downtown district. The DDA is authorized by statute and the Village Council to capture property taxes within its district for use on these projects. Appointed by Council, they elect their own chair, vice-chair, secretary, and treasurer. The Village President also serves on the DDA, and he is assisted by the Assistant Village Manager. The Planning Commission is responsible for advising the Village Council with regard to the proper development of the Village of Dexter. They are also responsible for the Capital Improvement Plan. The Planning Commission has nine members appointed by the Village Council upon the recommendation of the Village President.
